The last day we can mail you a ballot is 5 days prior to the election. To request an absentee ballot, either<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Print out and complete an application to vote, and then mail the completed form to Kane County Clerk, PO Box 70,Geneva, IL 60134,<br \/>\n\u2022Email us at elections@co.kane.il.us,<br \/>\n\u2022Or call our office at (630) 232-5990.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>So it came as a bit of a surprise to <a href=\"http:\/\/gijoe26.wordpress.com\/2010\/10\/11\/elections\/\">the soldier who wrote this <\/a>to discover that this was not the case at all.<\/p>\n<p>As he said to me in an email dated 10\/29 <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I sent a request for one yesterday and they said that the deadline was the 25th of october. horeseshit<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So this local guy complies with the instructions to vote absentee from his deployment in Afghanistan, sends a request five days before the election &#8211; though it&#8217;s very hard to communicate or get computer time at his base &#8211; and is informed the deadline was October 25th?  Where does it say that on the County Clerk&#8217;s website?  Can someone else find it?
